So, you should not choose in Europe the same route for trips, it is better to follow always new. But once in 8 - 10 years it is interesting to repeat also an old route, to look a fresh look at places where long was not and to endure what was seen again.
Before the road we prepared a car: went to service on diagnostics of a suspension bracket, the engine, checked brake shoes and disks. Not superfluous will be to take with itself a little lubricating oil (on having added), antifreeze, the compressor for pumping, perhaps, a repair kit for tires.
In spite of the fact that on the German autobahn it is easy and pleasant to go, there was a wish to pass also on the province, to look at life in villages in all its beauty of both places, and characters. And of course, the great fortune happened to us when it was succeeded to communicate to a couple of unfamiliar Germans - there was an occasion to remember my German from a school course still on the way.
So, we went. Our route: St. Petersburg - Ivangorod - Narva - Tartu - Riga - Jelgava - Shaulyay - Gvardeysk - bypass around Kaliningrad - Elblong (already in Poland) - by Gdansk - in “Russian“ Zhukovo, and then in Caps - by Slupsk - through Koszalin - Swinoujscie - stopped in Noyendorf and breakthrough - to Rostock. The way lay through 7 borders taking into account that in Russia we appeared twice: after Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania passed the Kaliningrad region, then made happy with themselves Poland and, at last, northern Germany.
From - for saving of time we did not stop by in the large cities, bypassed on “bypass“. If to consider all road to both parties, on a figure car speedometer considerably increased - almost on 3500 km. For drivers - pedants I will tell that Estonia flew by “move“, almost without stopping, and shortly before Riga drove on Highway E77 and already on it, without turning, followed further. Spent the night in the Lithuanian motel in Taurat. Only near the Polish Slupsk (“ñëóïåíü“ it is translated as “house“) the road led us on Highway E28 on the “local“ town of Koszalin (so, anything special), further to Germany - through E65 to Swinoujscie (it is so written in Russian - there is no mistake), and E251 - towards our purpose - Rostock.
Noticed that small towns (to our measures - settlements), however, very accurate, but similar at each other, in Germany meet less than in Poland (the saturation in Poland was more). All borders passed quickly and quietly: with the Schengen visa there are no problems here. Strangers in a uniform smiled to us, and we smiled in reply.
I nevertheless made one deviation from the planned route. At the Polish Gdansk curtailed to the city of Gdynia. Exactly here in 1945 on the spit Frisch - Nerung after three wounds my father Kashkarov Pyotr Nikolaevich finished war. To be near and not to visit these regions - it I could not afford.
On the way the automobile navigator helped to be guided. The European grid of roads in the electronic assistant is made quite well, informatively. But helped to be guided only (to verify a way with the card in the movement) as we did not see any automobile “stopper“, and there is an impression that here are not informed on them at all.
On the way already in the territory of Germany we saw such picture: the police with the included light beacon warns participants of traffic that it is necessary to increase vigilance (attention, danger!) still approximately through kilometer from the car with a special signal costs several others - technical services with the switched-on yellow flashing indicators, and near them - one faulty car protected with striped tapes. It not road accident in sense of the word habitual to us, and simple “technical“ breakage on the autobahn. But the services responsible for safety react to it, to our Russian measures - immediately. Here so really in Germany safety on autobahns is ensured. It is interesting that in city line it is accepted not just to give way (lane) of police, and passing the special vehicle also to stop.
In Rostock life is in full swing, pouring out on the most beautiful squares and streets with fountains and sculptures, lamps. On the road we in a distance saw the old locks similar to unapproachable palaces. In the downtown the lake Shvanentayk is pleasing to the eye. Having wandered here, our children enjoyed very much. Beautiful view from the highway 105. With Tessiner - a shtrassa the picturesque view of Uferpromenad Embankment opens. Walking and bicycle paths in parks of Rostock strike with same “architecture“; their planning is faultless - paths are strictly parallel and perpendicular, here you will not find any “joke“ of builders in the form of radial town planning of streets.
In vicinities of Rostock I recommend to visit the well-known village of Warnemunde. Exactly here the national thought thought up “a beach basket“ - it is such wattled construction which is at the same time used as a chair, a table, a tiny case with function of protection against the sun and wind on the beach.
Here it is more than enough of sights! The town is very pure, justifies a proverb that is pure not where clean and where do not litter. Nevertheless I will tell also of what the legislator provided huge (even by local standards) a penalty for those who break purity that is equated to disorderly conduct here.
And if you were not in Germany yet, put these data in the moneybox and you can plan travel on the car with small expenses and great pleasure. It is possible to get to Rostock in several ways, including through Finland - the ferry. But there was a sick wish to see Europe from a car window. In my opinion, enough good reasons to go to automobile travel in such a way.
