Reservoir in a garden - it is real. Began part 3
So, the reservoir is created. But it only beginning. How to look after own pond? Appearance of a reservoir, health of its inhabitants and mood of members of household depends on leaving.
Care of a reservoir
a reservoir is cleared in the Spring of garbage, washed and filled with fresh water. In April immerse the wintered plants in containers, having put under gravel special fertilizers in the form of granules. In May it is possible to plant new plants. During the season in due time delete vegetable garbage and clean walls. The Nitchaty seaweed forming green lumps periodically delete with a stick as the system of a filtration does not cope with them. In process of evaporation add water. If you have to change partially water, then water with it beds - it is excellent fertilizer.
If a pond superficial, then containers for the winter take, plants cut off, transfer to the cellar, put in the container with water, or shift a moss and watch humidity. In the spring of a plant as necessary replace.
Still water becomes soiled, becomes muddy over time and begins to blossom that is caused by development of monocelled seaweed. And for small ponds this problem is even more serious, than for big.
the Effective solution of this problem is planting of plants with the floating leaves closing a water surface (jugs, water-lilies), and also plants of the oksigenator enriching water with oxygen (rdest, a rogolistnik, elodeya). Action of such plants is based on the competition to seaweed for the mineral salts and carbon dioxide dissolved in water. There is a group of the plants floating on a surface - a duckweed, an azolla, a water hyacinth, vodokras, a pistiya, - capable to shade a pond in the absence of water-lilies and jugs.
However in the early spring when still there is no water vegetation, should use the so-called algitsida which are selectively destroying seaweed. It is necessary to remember that these preparations are not harmless to health of the person and inhabitants of a pond therefore it is possible to use them, strictly following instructions for application. >
It is even better for p to provide at a construction of a pond in day of a bowl a drainage opening - through it it will be possible not only to merge part of water at its replacement (ideally - weekly), but also it is correct to organize a filtration. The water getting to filters through a drainage opening by means of the special pump will be able to get to a twig again - thus you will provide “water cycle“ in a miniature. Water which you will merge can be used when watering a kitchen garden - if in your pond there live small fishes, then in this case they will enrich it with the nitrogenous connections useful to the soil. Certainly, the filtration is not obligatory, but is desirable - then water in your pond will always remain pure. However, the price of such pond (taking into account the cost of the pump and filters) will increase approximately twice. Because from a pond it is necessary to filter various substances, use of filters of various types is recommended. These types of filters are given below:
- mechanical filtration: filters large parts, for example, foliage, silt, a dung, etc.;
- biological filtration: microorganisms decompose harmful substances and turn nitrite into nitrate;
- chemical filtration: binding and neutralization of toxic agents.
Filters have to be as it is possible the big sizes, and water has to proceed through them as it is possible more slowly. Thus the contamination of filters is prevented and the active condition of microorganisms is supported. Ideal option - to get a ready set for a pond filtration in one box (together with the pump). An important role in the choice of the filter is played by the volume of your reservoir. In the instruction to each filter it is specified for what volume of water it is intended.
