Travel across Moscow area: children`s pleasures in Dmitrov

Dmitrov - one of the best cities of Moscow area. We did not happen to visit there in the winter, but with confidence we can tell that in the summer there it is worth visiting with children. Probably, the rank of “the best of the small cities of Russia“ won by this city a few years ago will add weight to my words. After the first hour of walk across Dmitrov our children declared to us:“ Let`s live we here“. And too something yes means. Dmitrov - the city - the fairy tale where it is possible to arrive to take a walk in streets, to glance in the museum, to pass through the Bridge of happiness... and not only.

Dmitrov - the ancient city with rich history, and in it is that spirit, that atmosphere of the old Russian city which usually is absent in noisy industrial the cities existing at most 4 - 5 centuries and even only couple of hundreds of years. Dmitrov - the age-mate of Moscow.

Dmitrov conceived as boundary fortress, once had an important economic and strategic importance. Across the rivers to the Sister and Yakhroma there passed the way to riverheads of Volga, by land it was possible to reach upper courses of Klyazma from where goods to Vladimir were delivered.

1180 Dmitrov was burned by

B as a result of internal war between Svyatoslav Vsevolodovich and Vsevolod the Big Nest. It was restored quickly enough, by 1214 representing the city, rather big on old concepts, with the suburbs. In the same year the army of the son Vsevolod Vladimir approached walls of the fortified city, but it was not succeeded to take Dmitrov to them, citizens defended, having crushed at the same time one of Vladimir`s groups.

Dmitrov - the city with difficult destiny and big history, it often changed the owners, departing in inheritance to one prince, another. In 1214 it was a part of the Pereyaslavsky principality, in 1247 was formed independent by Galitsko - the Dmitrovsky principality, and in 1334 it broke up and formed the certain Dmitrovsky principality. In addition, in 1237 - m, 1293 - m and in 1408 - m ruined years Dmitrov Tatar - Mongols.

the Big and important event for all North - east Russia - princely congress - took place in Dmitrov in 1301 when princes of the Moscow, Pereyaslavsky, Vladimir and Tver principalities gathered to discuss political affairs. In 1364 the Dmitrovsky principality together with Dmitrov was a part Moscow.

Peak of blossoming of Dmitrov the first half of the 16th century, the period of government of the prince Yury (1505 - 1533), the second son Ivan III is considered. Those years construction of Assumption Cathedral and the stone building of Borisoglebsky Monastery began. Commercial relations of dmitrovsky merchants reached the most Caspian region, through the city there was a trade way on the North on which bread from where carried to Moscow furs, salt and a hunting bird was delivered. Having estimated prospects of development of Dmitrov, the princely power had a kind feeling and even patronized dmitrovsky trade.

Dmitrov was transferred to

C of 1569 when the last Dmitrovsky prince Vladimir was executed, to oprichnina, and its decline began - trade ways became empty, merchants parted who where, the city almost became empty. After it ruined Jan Sapegi`s groups, by 1624 in more than 100 yards of Dmitrov there lived only 127 people. Only a quarter of the century later slow restoration of the city began.

In 1781 Dmitrov received the coat of arms and the status of the district city, and brisk trade and construction began again. The subsequent wars did not affect the city, only during the Great Patriotic War in Dmitrov there was heavy fighting.

the Excellent opportunity alive to look at

on places where there were such important events, to see with own eyes the residence of the Russian princes, the Kremlin protective shaft and many other things... Only this way it is possible to feel, understand and fall in love with history of the country in which you live.

Walking by historical part of Dmitrov, it is possible to speak about different things: that the Kremlin once was the fortress which was surrounded with shaft and a ditch (all this can be seen), about related communications and difficult relationship of the Russian princes, about country stories, about life of the Russian people, about architecture and the Great Patriotic War...

Than to children still remembered the city? The real earth shaft surrounding the Dmitrovsky Kremlin and adjoining to it park...

Dmitrov - the town, all the most interesting it is possible to see during a foot walk, but anyway it is better to begin, probably, from the center.

On a main square of Dmitrov you will be met by a monument to Yury Dolgorukiy, founder of the city. This is that Yury Dolgorukiy who founded also Moscow. He called the city in honor of the son Dmitry, but this his name given at a baptism. Nam Dmitry is better known as Vsevolod the Big nest nicknamed so because it had 12 children.

It costs

at the bottom of an earth shaft 15 meters high, about a kilometer long, remained since 12 - 14 centuries. The part of the ditch once surrounding a shaft remained and up to now. All wooden turrets on a shaft were burned in the Time of Troubles, there were only reconstructed Nikolsky gate. On a shaft it is possible to rise and bypass on it the Kremlin from all directions, to admire city views and the vicinities. For children already this small adventure - to get on the real earth shaft surrounding fortress.

domes of Borisoglebsky Monastery, the wood are visible to

From a shaft, it is possible to make out Assumption Cathedral of the Kremlin well. The cathedral was constructed at the beginning of the 16th century, tile reliefs and an iconostasis remained. Till 1992 there was a city museum here, and now this temple operating, and the most interesting Istoriko - the art museum of Dmitrov in the neighbourhood, in the left wing of a cathedral.

In the museum the model of the city, work of artists, the Russian porcelain, furniture and pictures from a manor Apraksinykh is. In the certain hall life of the Russian peasants is shown, there is an original log hut with utensils and the real instruments of labor of peasants. The ware, clothes, jewelry, the ancient weapon usually cause interest in children. There is in the museum also a department devoted to the Great Patriotic War.

If to you the surname Kropotkin (Pyotr Alekseevich, the theorist of anarchism, the scientist, the geologist, the geographer) is familiar to

, then it will be interesting to you to learn that in 20 - e years he also took part in work of the museum. Near the museum are located the house where there lived Kropotkin, and a monument to this famous person: the bearded elderly revolutionary in valenoks sits on a bench at the house.

Around the Kremlin old wooden houses well remained, and walk on such small streets will be pleasant to fans of old times and is informative for children - citizens. Here the pedestrian zone, the small street which is laid out by a stone and rich with different pleasant surprises.

Near wooden gate the happy bridge, two big horseshoes at the edges is and 5 small on the bridge it is necessary to pass “for luck“. According to a legend, exactly here Yury Dolgorukiy`s horse stumbled about a stone and broke a horseshoe. In memory of it at the bridge you are waited also by “a stone of desires“.

Here the quiet shady place and if from the bridge to go to Assumption Cathedral, you will see a monument to Kirill and Mefodiy.

From outer side of a shaft it is interesting too: there are sculptures of representatives of different social groups: the teacher of a gymnasium with the magazine, the old wanderer in bast shoes, “summer resident“ with a basket, couple of young noblemen, the tradeswoman and the merchant... With all of them it is possible to be photographed for memory, to try growth.

there do not go Here cars therefore it is possible to run about and will gambol with all the heart. Of course, here sell ice cream. There is also a wooden playground where it is possible to climb and shake on a swing.“ The small form“ is and here, in the form of wooden mushrooms. It is more difficult to get on a shaft from here, a steep slope, but especially desperate young spidermen can try.

Wet and not only...

Dmitrov subdued us also a large number of fountains. Especially children will like summer walk on the city. In the center, on squares, the cascade of fountains - crackers, they in turn begin to work, and it gives to kids many delights: to catch streams of water or to guess what of fountains now will earn. They beat as if from the earth, there a lattice on which it is possible and to step therefore if you are not against, children there also “will bathe“.

Dmitrov is full of surprises, on it it is very pleasant to walk. Why in the summer and with children? Because here a set of various fountains and fountainlets, sculptures and a skulpturok, flowers and the whole landscape compositions, and it is possible to see all this, just walking on the city, not using any transport. It is possible and walk. There are “points“ which should be visited in Dmitrov. Lily fountains (musical) and the Expectation fountain pleasing with expressive frog muzzles (about McDonald`s), the Ice arena where there is a skating rink, the pool, children`s cafe and “An extreme park“ where it is possible to spend time with children. Opposite to the Ice arena there was the whole exhibition of the landscape flower compositions presented to Dmitrov by the enterprises and city institutions in the summer. In creation of the flower business card everyone gave all the best and tried to be original as he could. There were also lodges - izbas, both peacocks, and bridges through flower small rivers...

Here the playground with wooden sculptures and a swing, slightly further on the river bank (in line with which, by the way, too there is a fountainlet) costs a sculpture of a wooden horse with the cart on which children with great pleasure will get, and also “lazilok“ is a lot of other interesting swing.

Many like to go on the ancient Russian cities, to visit there temples and monasteries, usually cozier and “kind“, than temples in big cities. Of course, it is not so interesting to small children, and here school students and teenagers can receive the bright and memorable impressions from such “trip behind cultural values“. In Dmitrov, except devyatiglavy Assumption Cathedral of the Kremlin, it is possible to look at the Borisoglebsky Monastery constructed in the 15th century, the Kazanskaya Church (operating even during the Great Patriotic War), Church of Our Lady of Tikhvin (light, beautiful, looks as the exact copy of Nikitsky church in Vladimir), church on other coast of Yakhroma, in part of the city over the river, the temple which is in 25 km from the city of the village of Rogachevo and other sights.

If you are interested in military history, your children paint models of tanks and a figure of the Soviet soldiers, then here you will find too what to look at. The well-known Permilovsky height where in the fall 41 - go there were battles with the fascist troops attacking Moscow. The monument to wars 1 - y shock army, reflected an impact of the enemy and an observation deck with which the view of the Moscow Canal, city streets, bas-reliefs of types of military forces in the monument basis opens, is reminded of those heroic days.

If you go to Dmitrov by car from Moscow, you can glance also in the only Museum of the tank T in Russia - 34. At an entrance costs T - 34 releases of 1942, in the museum drawings, personal belongings of creators of the tank, model and models of tanks both Soviet, and German are exposed. Children will be delighted with the exercise machine T - 34 where it is possible “to operate“ the real levers. In the museum also tanks of more modern type are exposed: T - 54, T - 55, T - 64, T - 72, T - 80.

is Told, vicinities of Dmitrov are interesting too, but it is already other history.
