according to the research conducted within the EXAMEN project of the Begin Group company among 300 seniors and their parents at an exhibition “by Alma Mater: the higher education for your child“, 24% of parents plan that their children will get an education abroad. Another 6% of respondents reported that they are going to study abroad and intend to send the child abroad. 7% of respondents are going to go abroad to study.

at the same time a half of parents reported that they would like that their child passed abroad the short-term program (a language course, training). Another 14% welcome receiving the higher education by the child abroad. 21% of parents would like that their children studied only in Russia.

according to poll of the TOPSCHOOLS project at the “Best Private Schools for Your Child“ exhibition in which 110 parents of school students took part the children to study abroad aged from 7 till 6 years, 20% - from 10 to 13 years, 30% - from 14 to 17 years, and 40% - after 17. Thus, parents of the studying senior classes are in programs of training abroad more actively interested.

Among the main reasons for the choice of foreign education parents noted that it will give to children the chance well to learn a foreign language (40%), will help to enter to the foreign university (38%), to get a better and prestigious education (12% and 10% respectively).

Major factors at the choice of foreign school are, first of all, a possibility of receipt in foreign higher education institution (50%), and also conditions of accommodation and a small amount of children from Russia (on 25%).

As for the choice of the country where our compatriots prefer to get higher education, Great Britain. On the second place in popularity (15% of respondents) there is USA, then there is France (9%), Germany (7%), Canada and Australia (on 6% of respondents), and also Spain (4%).

Traditionally British education is considered a quality standard. However today 81% of the interrogated school students and parents consider that the good education can be got not only to Great Britain They recognize that higher education institutions of France, to Germany or Italy give not less good education.

at the same time priority factors at the choice of the country for receiving the higher education abroad are prospects of employment in it (this factor is important for 36% of school students and their parents), and also traditions of quality education (35%). Less influences have such factors as cost of residence in the country (17%), its history and culture (13%), climate (only 6% of respondents).

It is obvious that at the choice of the country where yesterday`s seniors go to study, the factor of quality of education nevertheless concedes to good prospects of receiving work or at least training passings.

Degree of importance of the reasons for which respondents choose the country for education abroad

of Specialty which are chosen by entrants, going to study abroad, are in many respects similar to preferences of future students of the Russian higher education institutions. The vast majority seek to get an education in the sphere of business and economy. The others as specialty choose architecture, art (design), hotel business, IT, law. Students are trained in English (92%), the French, German and Spanish languages. At the choice of the program of the higher education abroad 79% of respondents are guided by training cost, at the same time the country is important for 64%, and 38% which answered questions estimate prospects of further employment. Pay attention of 36% of respondents to a brand of higher education institution. Existence of suitable specialties and condition of accommodation (7 and 9% respectively) were the least important factors.

As it was p, on popularity of foreign higher education institution in Russia, first of all, such factors as the place taken by higher education institution in the international ratings (so consider 39% of respondents), strong communications with educational agencies in Moscow (38%) influence. A little less important respondents consider marketing activity of higher education institution in the Russian market (31%). To a lesser extent popularity of the country in which it is located exerts impact on prestige of higher education institution.

Having made the preliminary decision to send children to study abroad, 44% of respondents plan to visit a specialized exhibition, and 23% - to address to profile agency. 17% of respondents are going to be engaged in search of the program independently, the remained 16% of respondents prefer to get advice of acquaintances.

Should notice that many school students and their parents still enough watchfully treat services of educational agencies. At the choice of agency as the most important factors professionalism of employees (32% of respondents), positive responses (21%), membership in Association (18%), the number of years of work (17%) were called. Respondents consider as less significant activity of agency in the market (12%).

Their employees personally attended many schools and universities and understand the atmosphere and conditions of educational institutions, help to prepare documents for receipt, to receive the visa, etc. Thereby agencies save time of parents, and also give the chance to keep in contact with the children sent for study, their teachers and curators that can be especially actual for parents who do not speak language of the country chosen for training.
