However, they fly usually with a speed about tens kilometers per second and, entering the atmosphere, usually burn down in it, without having reached a surface. According to astronomers, meteoric bodies from 1 to 30 m in size fall to the Ground with a frequency of times in several months, objects with a diameter more than 30 m fall to us with an interval approximately time in 300 years. Objects up to 100 m in size - approximately once in 100 - 1000 years. Asteroids with a diameter up to 1 km - on average time in 10. 000-100. 000 years. And asteroids of 10 kilometers in size fall to us once in 1. 000. 000-10. 000. 000 years.

You will tell - seldom? Yes, it seems what is rare. But in the history of Earth scientists already know several cases of mass death of flora and fauna of the planet, and though they do not know absolutely precisely what became the reason of these cataclysms, the proofs found them indicate falling to Earth of asteroids.

When the asteroid with a diameter more than 100 m falls to the Ground - it is regional accident, it is more than 1 km - global, and fatal consequences for a civilization can come at collision with bodies more than 10 km in size.

Present telescopes allow to trace only rather big celestial bodies. The same chebarkulsky meteorite was noticed by the American satellite belonging to NASA only in two hours prior to its falling to Earth.

Are well-known to astronomers of a comet.

Schoomaker`s comet - Levi fell to Jupiter in 1994. Astronomers of Earth knew this comet long ago and, having calculated its trajectory, expected this falling. Moreover, they in the telescope observed the moment of falling of the most part of fragments of a comet. By their calculations falling of a comet caused in the atmosphere of Jupiter explosion with a force of one million megatons (in a trotyl equivalent). And if it fell to the Ground, then it is quite probable, Earth just would collapse from such blow as the planet the Phaeton which became a belt of asteroids in Solar system between Mars and Jupiter.

In the USA many years there is a group of scientists - the astronomers occupied with tracking of falling to Earth of celestial bodies. They gathered at B612 fund (in Antoine`s novel Saint - Ekzyuperi “Little Prince“ is marked out as if astronomers of Earth knew the planet of the little prince at number B612). Scientists of this group claim that according to measurements from 2000 to 2013 they found by means of devices of 26 explosions of large meteorites (or small asteroids) in the atmosphere of Earth. The strongest of them had a trotyl equivalent in hundreds of kilotons. And we just did not notice it - these celestial bodies blew up too highly and too far from the places occupied by people: in 2009 one exploded highly in air of Indonesia over the province Youzhny of Sulawesi, in 2004 one celestial body fell to the Pacific Ocean near Antarctica, and one exploded over the Mediterranean Sea in 2002.

And therefore if to us, in sense - to mankind, there is a wish to survive and live but not to be gone like dinosaurs, it is necessary to construct for a start big orbital group of big telescopes to make the catalog of all potentially dangerous asteroids, having learned which of them threatens us, to try to think up though some measures of counteraction. It is enough slightly - to brake slightly a celestial body or, on the contrary - to accelerate it, and the trouble will pass by Earth.

Well, of course, it is possible to continue to hope for the best, to rely at random and to do nothing. Perhaps, even most likely, the asteroid will also not fall in the next 30 years. And that will be then - our children have to think already. Or grandsons. Well, “after us the deluge“. How we will arrive?
