How to apply ukryvny materials to cultivation of plants at the dacha?
various ukryvny materials are made Now for plants much. Their application allows gardeners - to gardeners to provide protection of garden and garden cultures against frosts, against strong wind and a hail, against the scorching sun and even from wreckers and diseases.
Besides there is an opportunity to land seedling in soil in earlier terms, so and to receive a harvest of vegetables earlier and in bigger volume.
I apply ukryvny materials of two types - a white opaque ukryvny agricultural nonwoven cloth and a polyethylene transparent film. I grow up all vegetable cultures on a country ogorodik in an open ground therefore ukryvny materials to me have very opportunely.
When in the first half of May I land seedling of tomatoes, pepper, vegetable marrows, etc. vegetable cultures in soil, over beds I establish metal arches at once and I fix on them the prepared strips of ukryvny material. At first I pull the first layer - a nonwoven cloth. This shelter is intended for protection of plants against strong spring winds, against the scorching sun, and also against small night frosts.
Over the first layer in case of strong cold snaps in addition I establish and I fix the second layer - a polyethylene film. Once, a few years ago, on May 20 struck a night frost minus 10 degrees, but double protection passed severe examination - the seedling did not suffer!
Strawberry in May during a time of a butonization and blossoming it falls on night at frosts too to cover. I cover beds of strawberry with a nonwoven cloth directly from above, on strawberry bushes, and I press edges to the earth. Damages of buds, flowers and ovaries from a frost, thus, manage to be avoided. And first berries, as we know, the largest, early and desired. There is no wish to lose them!
I buy a nonwoven ukryvny cloth more thickly - brand 60. It both protects better, and serves longer. Width of a cloth I choose 3,2-3,3 meters. Such width just allows to cover perfectly beds with seedling (arches about 1 meter high, width of beds of 90 cm). And the cloth cut povdol (width of a strip of 1,6 m turns out) completely covers strawberry bushes on a bed, and still there is an allowance from edges to press strips to the earth. In June sometimes it is necessary to cover from frosts for the night early potatoes and corn with the same ukryvny nonwoven cloth.
I apply a polyethylene film only to additional protection of seedling against frosts. Width of a film I choose about 1,6 m (it is made by a stocking), thickness of 200 microns, I cut a stocking, and width of 3,2 m, just suitable for shelter of beds turns out. I cut a strip of a nonwoven cloth and a polyethylene film taking into account length of beds in advance. I have all identical beds therefore I try on the front page in the place, and the others are cut already by a certain size.
Of course, there are certain efforts when using shelters. For night of a bed to close, in the morning - to open, and so until spring frosts finally stop. After that I send a polyethylene film for storage, and I do not hurry to clean a nonwoven cloth. In very hot weather tomatoes and pepper should be protected from the scorching June sun which aims to burn flower pollen on actively blossoming plants. It is known that at high temperature (30 degrees) pollen can become almost sterile and good ovary of fruits will not be! At this time I fix over beds of a strip of ukryvny material so that they served plants as an awning and gave them a saving shadow.
It is necessary to establish sometimes again polyethylene, for protection already against autumn night frosts in the fall. But all these efforts a hundredfold pay off early and plentiful harvests of tomatoes, pepper, vegetable marrows, cucumbers and, of course, strawberries. Besides, when using shelters the period of fructification of many vegetables is considerably extended, up to the middle of October. It allows, for example, to keep tomatoes from the last collecting fresh even for a New Year`s table. And salatik from fresh, the pomidorok - is always more tasty!
