Disposable diapers: yes or no? History and myths
In the twentieth century the huge set of useful inventions without which the modern person just does not represent the life was made. Someone considers that it is impossible to do without mobile phone, for others life comes to an end if the Internet is disconnected...
And here the woman having the small child, most likely, will give the first place among all these inventions to disposable diapers - “pampers“. About them the speech will also go.
A little historyHistory of emergence of disposable diapers began
somewhere in the middle of the 20th century when the leading chemical engineer of the Procter & Gamble company Victor Mills was forced to look after three grandsons. Probably, it was necessary to it hardly and to facilitate to themselves life, he also guessed the main concept of “pampers“: it is not necessary to erase - it is necessary to throw out! Some more employees of the Procter & Gamble company were connected to his idea, and soon the dream of many parents was realized, and a miracle - diapers Mills tested the first models on own grandsons.
Having touched a set of options, the diaper was called “Pampers“, using the English word “pamper“ as a basis that means “to indulge“. And in spite of the fact that there is a huge number of other names of disposable diapers today (“Huggies“, “Libero“, “Happy“ etc.) our sellers and buyers apply to them the name very first - “pampers“.
And here before “pampers“ appeared on counters of shops, our parents and primogenitors used exclusively reusable diapers. Several centuries ago diapers did of hemp, flax or wool, and with the advent of a gauze diapers from this fabric used long time in many countries.
How to make a gauze diaper
Actually is a lot of ways of production of reusable diapers. Here only one of them.
In a drugstore we buy a gauze. From a roll 5 meters long about six diapers turn out. We cut squares and we put: two ends to the middle of a diaper, and once again two ends to the middle and in half. The rectangular strip which, actually, and is enclosed to the kid has to turn out. After use to destination the diaper is erased, dried up and ironed, and again is ready to application. In day about twenty such diapers are necessary.
Whether it is so possible to grow up without “pampers“ of the healthy child? Of course and! It is proved by centuries-old experience of mankind. Because health of the kid does not depend at all on on what type of diapers his parents will stop the choice. The most important is the correct care of the baby. If timely change of reusable diapers is made and to be observed hygiene, then to the child will be and is dry and comfortable even without use of “pampers“.
But … The psychological state of mother directly influences health and mood of the baby. Use of gauze diapers demands considerably big expenses of time and forces, than “pampers“. Perhaps, to the child really all the same, what diaper on it, but to it not all the same as mother feels. The child does not need mother who infinitely erases and irons, he needs full of strength and energy mother who can find more time for communication with it.
Myths about use of “pampers“
1. This expensive pleasure. Prices of disposable diapers really considerable. But, using “pampers“, you save on a kidswear (in this case it is necessary several times less). You save on detergents (laundry detergents for washing, means for cleaning of carpets and upholstered furniture which you will manage not to soil without “pampers“ hardly). You save on the electric power and water, and the most important, you save the precious time. So if properly to count everything, still it is unknown, what is cheaper.
2. Leads to infertility at boys. This statement is based on the conducted researches on impact of thermoeffect on activity of spermatozoa at adult men who showed that activity decreases. However to consider on the basis of it that use of “pampers“ conducts to infertility, absolutely illogically. In - the first because at boys till 7 years the spermatogenesis in general is absent, and seed tubules have no gleam so to influence actually there is nothing. And in - the second, in researches this was not about infertility but only about some decrease of the activity of spermatozoa.
3. Complicates schooling to a pot. All problems of this process have exclusively psychological character. If “pampers“ are not used, then parents want to accustom as soon as possible the child to a pot, and they make more efforts and patience in this direction.
As it became clear, it is possible to do without “pampers“, of course. And whether here it is necessary? Why not to seize the opportunity, naturally, if your child has no allergy to absorbent or impregnation of a diaper and to relieve itself of excess homework, having presented at the same time more attention to the kid.
