How to grow up a radish to receive from it seeds?

the Garden radish - a kind of a radish. It is one of the most ancient vegetable cultures, in informal conversation - a radish, in the spring one of the first at the dacha pleases us with the nice, strong, juicy and tasty root crops possessing unique pleasant sharp taste and aroma.

The garden radish can be grown up everywhere where the sunlight suffices and the soil is sufficient fertile, it is desirable with neutral acidity. Even on the smallest ogorodik it is possible to receive a good harvest.

I grow up a radish in two steps: in the early spring and in the second half of summer. In recent years at me at the dacha three grades of a radish - the French breakfast, Togul and the Ice icicle grow. Constantly not to worry about availability of necessary sowing material, now I prepare radish seeds independently. It is not so difficult.

To receive qualitative seeds, it is necessary to remember that a garden radish - a plant perekrestnoopylyayushcheesya, i.e. one grade can be pollinated by other grade, and also the blossoming plants of a wild radish that sharply worsens a garden radish cultivar. As none of neighbors near my site are engaged in cultivation of a garden radish on seeds and I too during the season prepare only one grade, repollination of a radish at me does not happen, seeds turn out qualitative, with viability of nearly 100% and with the high-quality signs corresponding to an original grade.

There are two ways of cultivation of seeds of a garden radish: transfer and through-(crops of seeds in soil on the constant place). I apply a through-way, i.e. I do not replace seed root crops of a radish to other place, and I leave them on the former place.

In June when comes it is time to harvest a radish, I leave one on seeds - two rows of root crops (pieces 10 - 15), as a rule, with edge of a bed, I do around them a fillet of the earth and I put 3 - 4 pegs (height of 1,5 m) that when the radish actively goes to an arrow, was to what to tie up powerful stalks. On seeds I select plants healthy, with root crops, large, typical for a grade (in a form, coloring, the size). At the same time surely I delete plants, prematurely, without formation of a root crop, the throwing-out tsvetonosny escapes since one such plant can already litter all seed material.

During the summer regularly I weed a radish, I water and once in the middle of June I feed up solution of a chicken dung. Seed plants quickly actively go to growth, reaching in height of one and a half meters, shooters throw out, blossom and tie pods. In process of growth of bushes I tie up their branches to the established pegs.

In September I start cleaning of seeds. At first I cut off at the roots all seed radish and I send it for drying on an attic for about two weeks. After stalks and pods dry so that at a razminaniye in hands are scattered on small pieces, I begin to take from pods directly seeds. At first secateurs I separate large stalks from pods and smaller stalks and I throw out. Then in a suitable trough a mortar accurately I crush all remained branches with pods to small homogeneous mass that pods burst and crumbled. Radish seeds quite strong and from this procedure are not damaged. I fill in the received crushed weight with water, all alburnum from the remains of small stalks and pods emerges up, and seeds of a radish fall by a capacity bottom. I send the emerged weight to compost, and once again I wash out valuable seeds of a radish in clear water and I scatter for final drying on a blank sheet of plywood.

Seeds about a half of an ordinary glass - only about 100 ml turns out as a result. It is enough also for me, and all my friends - gardeners for a long time. And radish seeds without problems till 5 years are stored!
