Great Avicenna of
Avicenna - so called it in Europe. Avicenna is a latinizirovanny name. Actually it called Abu - Ali Ibn - Xing, or more precisely, Abu Ali Hussain ibn Abdallakh.
Sometimes it, the unique doctor and the scientist, one of the most great scientists and philosophers of the Middle Ages, the mathematician and the poet of the people of Central Asia, call the great Iranian scientist - sometimes great Arab … Actually Abu - Ali Ibn - Xing was born
in the settlement of Afshana near ancient Bukhara. Also there was it in one of hot August days in 980 - m to year, exactly a 1031 years ago.
In those far times the Uzbek nation was only still formed, the set of tribes and the people inhabited extensive lands of “The middle of the world“ - the cultural center of the huge Asia. And, probably, any of the modern Asian states should not “privatize“ a name of the great person now. Now Bukhara - the Uzbek city. Equally as Gurgandzh (Urgench), capital of Khwarezm. From here no distance to Turkmenistan (some fifty kilometers!) - from this region Turkic tribes at the beginning of the Middle Ages moved on open spaces of Asia Minor, destroying the great orthodox empire - their descendants, modern Turks, founded the Muslim country which nowadays is called as Turkey on ruins of ancient Byzantium.
But in 1012 (nearly one thousand years ago) Ibn - Xing moved to Iran where it long time was a court doctor and the vizier - that is the minister. And its “Book of knowledge“ is written in Dari - language of ancestors of the modern Tajik people. Abu - Ali of Ibn could - Xing to speak and on - is Arab.
Is clear that now to appropriate to the scientist of antiquity a modern nationality “Uzbek“, “Tajik“, or “Iranian“, at least, it is illiterate.
Avicenna is the son of the Asian people and a torch of the people European! Not without reason its “Canon of medical sciences“ long time was considered as the reference book of the European doctors and sustained more than thirty editions in different languages. “The canon …“ by right can be considered as the Ledger of Abu - Ali Ibn - Cynna. At first we will remember
also other its works. Especially as Avicenna is the author more than THREE HUNDRED compositions!.
In the “Book of healing“, and also in “The book of knowledge“, Abu - Ali of Ibn - Xing, being guided by Aristotle`s doctrine, developed own philosophical doctrine. Ibn - Xing recognized objectivity of life, indissoluble communication of matter and the movement. He considered that general natural regularity reigns in the world. Ibn - Xing hesitated between idealism and materialism. Approving eternity of matter, he at the same time recognized creation of the world by God. In a contradiction with the assessment of the defining role of sensual experience in knowledge, it tore off activity of “reasonable soul“ from experience. But and now, one thousand years later, people in these questions have no consensus! There is no unity and on many other questions …
in the field of Abu`s logic - Ali Ibn - Xing brought thought forms out of forms of life and made additions and even corrections to the logical doctrine of Aristotle on a number of questions. Abu`s
- Ali of Ibn - Xing is a lot of and fruitfully dealt with problems of natural sciences - geology, mineralogy, botany, zoology, chemistry, mechanics, astronomy. He criticized astrological superstitions (strange, as now, after ten centuries, many people “read destiny on stars“, without knowing the star chart AT ALL and on gram without understanding astronomy!!! And other people to them, present, trust).
The Muslim clergy (in the person of his not most educated representatives) accused Avicenna of heresy, “having gone in the footsteps of“ the European Catholic inquisition, and - Cynna pursued many followers of Ibn for godlessness.
Nevertheless, Abu`s works - Ali Ibn - Cynna exerted a great influence on development of progressive tendencies of medieval philosophy, promoted preparation of skilled natural sciences.
at the beginning of a sketch the scientist is called by the poet - and the truth, Abu - Ali Ibn - Xing was known and as the poet writing in Dari language verses in the form of national quatrains - “ruby“ or “rubo“.
Nevertheless Avicenna who made a lot of new knowledge in the most different areas (and even in poetry!) was first of all the largest doctor Srednevekovya.
It brought a valuable contribution to the theory and practice of medicine, to anatomy and human physiology, to surgery, therapy, diagnostics, pharmacology …
Classical work of Avicenna “A canon of medical sciences“ (or “A canon of medical science“) was born in 1020 - m to year, logically following experience of the great scientist and practician - Ibn Xing not only the personal medical experience, but also extensive medical experience of that time generalized in it. By the way, Avicenna paid attention to drugs of the Indian and Chinese origin, having generalized data of traditional medicine and having enriched them with the experience - as in the wise statement: “Trust - but check!.“
“A canon of medical sciences“ consists of five books. Along with the theory of medicine two books from five are devoted to the description of medicinal raw materials, medicines, ways of their production and use.
Avicenna well knew curative plants: from 2600 medicines described in “the Canon …“ nearly one and a half thousand are means of a phytogenesis.
“The canon …“ was translated already in 12 - m a century into Latin (it is published by the printing book in Milan later couple of centuries - even in 1473 - m!) also used as here it was noted, wide popularity in the Middle Ages - and not only in Europe, but also beyond its limits.
Died Abu - Ali of Ibn - Xing in 1037, having lived less than 60 - and years …
Very soon, in 9 years - in 2020 - m - the mankind will note the millennium of the well-known “Canon of medical sciences“. And this global event, undoubtedly, will be remembered by much. by
A to me it was most of all remembered it vrachebno - the poetic statement (from “A canon of medical sciences“) concerning a melissa - it, this fragrant, fragrant grass, supporting and curing cardiac diseases, “… heart inspires and clarifies mind“!.
Agree, the phrase, worthy the great poet - and the great doctor!
