Martial art for all? Yes! Artistic fencing of

Artistic fencing - rather young sports discipline. In Europe it exists about 20 years, in Russia officially since 2007. But then scenic fencing was recognized as a sport, there is it (and has the rich traditions) long ago. Scenic fight - an integral part of movies, performances, various demonstration performances. So recognition of artistic fencing by sports discipline only formalized a number of requirements and opened for many fans of this art a way to sport, the skill is not simple to show an opportunity, and to compete in it with others.

Artistic fencing - a look very democratic, really, opened for all. It is possible to be engaged in it at any age and it does not impose special requirements to physical training. Loadings at trainings, of course, are. But is much lower, than in sports fencing or other martial arts. Yes, artistic fencing - full-fledged martial art, only an orientation its not applied. More precisely, not fighting. Because artistic fencing just has practical value.

Cinema, theater, demonstration performances, sports and historical festivals - in all these spheres artistic, or scenic, fencing (in wider value scenic fight) finds for itself application. Exactly here the classical technicians of fencing not applicable in modern sport remained. Work in historical suits, in group fights, fencing in an environment of elements of an interior, use of the weapon of various historical periods (including pair), fencing with use of a raincoat or a board, application of obezoruzhivaniye - all this heritage of far eras when fencing was fighting.

On the other hand, artistic fencing is ideal for those to whom martial arts are interesting (especially historical, traditional), but actually fights, competitions, aggression do not attract at all. In artistic fencing there is no opponent or the rival. There are partners with whom interaction gives rise pass - a performance. Respectively, not rivalry, but contact, teamwork of couple or group, the general spirit of speakers is more important here.

It is important that in artistic fencing, as a rule, there is no protective equipment. Therefore, to the forefront there are safety measures: the weapon though not ground, but not safe. At the same time execution has to be whenever possible realistic or at least convincing. It is impossible to strike blows frankly wide of the mark or to stop them for half-meter to the partner. So without competent interaction (which is required) not to manage feeling of the partner. As well as without normal technical training. By the way, weakness of execution easily is evident to both the audience, and judges (if you speak at competitions). So, scenic fencing cannot be limited to a framework only of “scenic“ work.

The movements in artistic fencing differ from fighting prototypes in the bigger amplitude, clearness, presentation. And of course, on a scene partners accompany each other - for example, at knocking-out of the weapon do not seize its handle from all force. Nevertheless the fencer should know how it happened “actually“. Without it he will not be able to construct tactically competent (so, looking it is realistic) a scene, it is convincing to work. Thus, initially fighting movements, classical technicians do not disappear anywhere, and only become slightly wider, more noticeable, “rafinirovanny“.

There is in artistic fencing also one more party reflected in the name: actor`s game. Two of these parties, art of fencing and acting skills, go hand in hand. In my opinion, art of knowledge of the weapon is slightly more important - but on naked equipment far will not leave. Especially during production fight it is necessary “to win back“ constantly these or those emotions or, for example, situations when you were “wounded“. Each fight has to make a plot and sense.

Speak at competitions in couples, groups and single exercises. Besides, allocate the nominations on the temporary periods (from antiquity till the 19th century), and also the nomination “Free Style“. The performances attached to any certain era take place in the corresponding suits, on models of the weapon peculiar to this period. The main requirement here (as, however, and in other nominations) - use the technician, characteristic of the European cold weapon.

If to you competitions are uninteresting, scenic fencing is the fine hobby and helping to keep shape, and giving actor`s skills. Besides, which of us in the childhood (and many and much later) did not play knights and other representatives of ancient military estates? Role-playing games are popular also with absolutely mature people. So scenic fencing allows to return to children`s imaginations and to play - musketeers - but already seriously and the image appropriate for adults. Besides with advantage for health, both physical, and sincere.

I want to notice separately that at all proximity of artistic fencing to game occupation this serious. Injuries are quite possible here, but mainly from - for negligences. It is worth to remember that in hands at you though educational, but the weapon with which it is simple to put quite serious wound. Performances and trainings, as a rule, take place without protective equipment, and flippant attitude is fraught with injuries. So it is not game, but occupation for serious adults.

There is in artistic fencing a place and that who does not love “team games“. For you there is a nomination “solo“ where the athlete acts alone. It is not as simple as can seem. In solo performance the plot is played without partners and assistants. Here where expressiveness is rather important!

In general, artistic fencing of subjects also differs that here everyone can find that to it to liking. This type of martial art does not put a rigid framework, you can choose any historical era, be embodied in any historical or literary character, play in you to the written “play“.
