Types of self-adhesive labels

Label - a label on goods, an exhibit, a production product, etc. with the indication of the name, the producer, date of production (or an expiration date) and other information about him. Assumes a glue way of fastening.

Labels differ on a format (any, depending on appointment), beauty, a way of gluing - self-adhesive paper or film, label paper.

Chalk overlay paper for a label consists of three components: paper - a basis, a coated covering (the top layer) and the processed lower layer. The top and lower layers of a label have to possess different properties as the image is applied to top, and on lower the label fastens on a container. Paper - a basis - it is generally cellulose paper of high quality having the sufficient durability, elasticity and opacity. The coated covering is put to make a surface of more smooth and to increase printing properties of paper. Depending on equipment of paper-mill it can be put at once in the papermaking machine or is later in separate melovalny installation. Special processing of the lower layer is necessary for balancing of humidity of the top and lower layer (otherwise paper will be twisted), and also for giving to paper of necessary level of absorbency.

Label paper is issued in rolls and sheets. It can be divided into types, being guided by characteristics and scope of application:

(standard not moisture alkaliproof, for dry processes);

Moisture alkaliproof;

Standard, or paper for labels does not possess against water and is used where this property does not matter, and production of labels happens in dry conditions at a normal temperature - for example, for wrappers of confectionery (in particular, chocolate), for dry labels on boxes or soft cigarette packs. Standard label paper perfectly is suitable for labeling of cans or plastic bottles.

The moisture alkaliproof label does not collapse under the influence of moisture and alkali. At least, quickly. It is important for a returnable container (bottles, cans): in - the first, labeling happens in damp conditions therefore it is very important that paper kept the trade dress adjoining to moisture. Moisture resistance of label paper gives the chance without problems to label a container with humidity and at high temperatures. In - the second, in the course of removal of labels from a surface of returnable bottles alkali by means of which dissolve glue is used and clear a container surface. Paper under the influence of alkaline solution has to separate from a bottle entirely, not break up to parts that the equipment for a sink did not get littered.

Recently along with standard moisture alkaliproof label paper materials with so-called average moisture resistance appeared. This paper can be used in case production requirements to moisture resistance are not too high as it possesses this property only to a certain extent - for example, thanks to special processing it not volnit drying after damp labeling. Srednevlagostoyky label paper is favorable to consumers - it is cheaper moisture alkaliproof, at the same time does not concede the last in printing properties.

Printing properties of label &ndash papers; whiteness, luster and smoothness. Most often the image is applied to label paper in the offset way - here special value has quality of a coated covering. The whiteness and luster of the top layer define quality of display of flowers at the polichromatic press. Luster of paper is connected with its smoothness - the smoothness is higher, the luster is higher. The high rate of smoothness of paper is especially important at high-speed pechatibolshy circulations of labels.

Choosing label paper for the production, it is necessary to take major factors, influence on process of production of a label into account:

Type of production and condition of labeling;

Material on which the label is applied (glass, a tin, PET, a cardboard);

Labeling equipment (work speed, condition of the equipment);

production Storage conditions in a warehouse;

the Way of drawing the image on a label (offset, a flexography).

The more precisely properties of the paper chosen by you will conform to all production requirements on labeling and storage of production, the your label will look more qualitatively.

Self-adhesive labels - self-bondings, stickers, stickers - are even more often applied to registration of various goods, sometimes successfully replacing dry labels. It occurs owing to changes of the market of consumer goods as the flexographic technology of the press of self-bondings and production of stickers has indisputable advantages:

1. Huge range of front materials and glues;

2. The widest range of surfaces on which it is possible to place a self-adhesive label;

3. Various opportunities for finishing of stickers at production;

4. Big productivity at the press on self-bondings;

5. Low cost of the labeling equipment in comparison with the applicators dry labels;

6. A possibility of fast readjustment of the labeling line upon transition to the new sizes and material of self-adhesive labels.
