All of us very much love cinema. Especially our, Russian.

Old kind movies on which we grew up are “Moscow does not trust tears“, “Love and pigeons“, “Office romance“, the “Operation “Y““ loved by all, “Afonya“, “Shirley - Myrli“, “Twist of fate“ each New year and many others...

But here history of emergence of the Russian cinema is known by the few.

“Cinema“ - the word which came from Greek, kineo is translated how “to move“, from here and concept - shootings of any events, original or invented (in it difference of the documentary from art consists).

It is known that the first movie (or more likely a roller) was created by French brothers Lumiere, they invented and showed in 1895 a cinematograph - the device which was patented subsequently. It also became opening of the world era of cinema.

The Russian cinema appeared a little later, than French. The first film session of the feature film lasted only seven minutes, display of the first movie in Russia “Ponizovaya the slave“ took place on October 15, 1908. The movie was chyorno - white and mute. This movie marked itself the beginning of the Russian cinema. Soon our cinema made huge breakthrough forward, the silent cinema left, chyorno - the white scale was replaced by a colourful palette. In 1925 on screens the domestic movie “Battleship Potyomkin“ appeared very first almost color (with painted on it is black - a white film manually a red flag). And the sound in domestic cinema came only in 1931 with the movie “Start in life“.

From the beginning of war in cinema a lot of things changed. Comedies disappeared, small short films were forced out by feature films of military subject. In new serious movies the viewer saw a large number of military operations, strength of the enemy and firmness of our soldiers - the word was lit here, movies resembled the truth more and more.

After the Great Victory other genres appeared, the celebration subject over Nazism became especially bright flash in cinema, the movie “Falling of Berlin“, after a while - “Stalin fight“ appeared. Furor among the population was caused by movies about various war heroes: commanders, admirals, tankmen.

For a long time new genres and new ideas are popular, but movies about that war are popular to this day.

Old Soviet movies have a great number of admirers also today, on television still there are popular and loved practically by all audience inimitable pictures:

30 - x years (“Volga-Volga“, “Foundling“, “Tractor operators“, “Cheerful children“);

40 - x years (“Young Guard“, “Star“, “A stone flower“, “Rainbow“);

50 - x (“Quiet Don“, “Carnival night“ of Eldar Ryazanov, “An outpost in mountains“, “Soldier Ivan Brovkin“);

60 - x (“A diamond hand“, “A wedding in the Robin“, “Operation “Y““, “The Caucasian captive“, “The person - an amphibian“, “Imperceptible avengers“);

70 - 80 - x, movies of our childhood (“Gentlemen of good luck“ (1972), “The Dawns Here Are Quiet …“ (1973), “A red guelder-rose“ (1974), “Office romance“ (1978), “Afonya“ (1975), “Ivan Vasilyevich changes a profession“ (1973), “Moscow to tears does not trust

“ (1980), “Love and pigeons“ (1984), “The most charming and attractive“ (1985), “The person from Kaputsinov Boulevard“ (1987)...

Such remarkable cinema which presented to us is so much delightful movies, just could not be left without own holiday and therefore in 1980 according to the decree of Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR the holiday “Day of the Soviet Cinema“ further renamed into “Day of cinema“ was declared.

Date of a holiday was transferred several times, uniting it with the International day of cinema. But as a result in 2001 it was decided that the Russian cinema has to have an own, personal holiday.

In 2002 the holiday was decided to be celebrated on August 27, so celebrate it to this day.
