Tutankhamun: the greatest opening or falsification of a century? Part 1

Well who does not know this name presently? Perhaps, in the history the archeology of a XX century does not have more significant event, than detection of a tomb of Tutankhamun. Volume article - Konstantin Smirnov`s reasoning " is devoted to this subject; Solution of secret of Tutankhamun which was published this summer in one of the Belarusian newspapers. I was so hooked by this publication that I decided to submit these data for discussion, having stated them in brief by the own words.

In 1922 the archeologist Howard Carter found a tomb of the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun with a large number of untouched treasures and a mummy. But in the course of the excavation preceding this opening, Carter made several enough strange acts.

we Will consider everything one after another.

In 1917. Carter with the team of archeologists began large-scale excavation in Valley of the Kings. The place where subsequently found Tutankhamun`s tomb, began to investigate practically at once after the beginning of excavation. But soon without any explanations Carter ordered to pass into other place of the Valley. In five years prior to 1922 archeologists rummaged it very thoroughly, but any more - less significant did not find anything. And then Carter returns the group on that place which ordered to leave at the very beginning of excavation. And practically the tomb with the immured and sealed entrance was at once found.

After survey it became clear that the entrance was twice opened and again immured. Archeologists began to sort a stone laying and found the corridor filled with stones. Several days later they managed to clear pass behind which there was one more immured door. Behind this door found the room where there was gold stretcher, a big gold throne, alabaster vases, unusual chests and two statues. But there was one more sealed door near which there was a put entrance punched by someone earlier. Perhaps, ancient robbers. Behind this door found three big beds and one more small room filled by different jewelry and household items.

And suddenly Carter ordered to fill up a tomb, and itself went to Cairo for organizational works. For export of finds the narrow-gage railroad was built. In the middle of December started excavation again and in May, 1923 the first party of the found values was sent to Cairo. In February, 1923 the door in a tomb where there was a huge wooden sarcophagus upholstered with gold plates was opened. Nearby there was a room, literally to the full filled by gold and precious products. The press on a sarcophagus were untouched, so robbers did not visit here. And again Carter suspended researches, and started opening of the found sarcophagus only in the winter of 1926 - 27.

If to analyse all circumstances of excavation and detection of a tomb of Tutankhamun, then there are many questions and disagreements. For example, why the tomb was not plundered though it was visible that it was twice visited by robbers? Why it was the small sizes what is uncharacteristic for burial of the Pharaoh? Surprise also too prolonged terms of excavation: for extraction and the inventory of all finds of such small tomb of 5 years is too much.

Even more surprising G. Carter`s behavior seems. Why in 1917 after careful excavation it allegedly found nothing in the same place and quickly transferred group to other sites? And in in 5 years suddenly again decided to return on the same place and practically at once found burial. Besides, Carter artificially tightened terms of excavation, without allowing to open the sealed doors and forcing to study unimportant finds which could be investigated in vitro subsequently, without wasting precious time near such opening. Need of construction of a narrow-gage railway seems doubtful too: not so many objects were revealed, they could be taken out transport usual for those times.

Much unclear and in a situation with the ancient robbers who allegedly visited a tomb. Why they took nothing, did not open a sarcophagus how it became in all burials? Why they opened one doors, and others did not touch, opening the roundabout ways in monolithic rocky breed? And a condition of finds which would have to be more than three millennia, even too satisfactory. The sarcophagus sheathed by gold struck archeologists the gloss, also other objects, without signs of dust and pomutneniye perfectly looked. And here internal wooden coffins were strongly spoiled by dampness as though were stored absolutely in other conditions. Strikes detection of four chariots, huge for such room. They could not be brought entirely in this room, they also were sawn! Interestingly, than their could saw more than 3 thousand years ago?

And, at last, a mummy. It stayed in a deplorable state though, judging by an untouched tomb, priests should not have hidden it from robbers of burials. So why the mummy of the Pharaoh was embalmed not so carefully how it was usually done with imperial persons?

Questions if deeply to reflect, arises much. And we still will return to discussion of these riddles
