What is Velesova the book?

of Velesov the book - a unique written monument of Slavic pre-Christian culture. Its origin and history are shrouded in secret. Disputes on that, a fake this or lost heritage are still conducted. But - about everything one after another. The official version is as follows:

Is considered that Velez`s Book long time was in collection of texts of the Novgorod Magicians, and was taken out later to France from where returned only in the 19th century and acquired by the antiquary A. I. Sulakadzev. Later he sold it to a princely surname of Neklyudov - Zadonsky, there the book also met revolution. In 1919 the colonel of one of divisions of voluntary army, Fedor Arturovich Izenbek (the former archeologist), near Kharkiv got to the plundered manor. Its attention was drawn by the wooden plates scattered on a floor. They were only 43 pieces, all of approximately identical size (3832, in half-centimeter thickness), are varnished, on edge there were openings for fastening among themselves. Having looked narrowly, the colonel understood that the unclear text is scratched on them. Interested in a find, it took away plates with itself(himself).

But here civil war ceased, in Russia the Soviet power was established, and ancient plates emerged in Brussels in 1924 where the friend Izenbeka - the historian - the Slavonic expert, the writer Yury Petrovich Mirolyubov was engaged in their studying. It conducted all the supervision under fixed supervision of the owner, agreeing to any conditions if only to keep the maintenance of a relic. The scientist managed to rewrite about 75% of the text and to take one accurate picture of a plate (in further called No. 16). On August 13, 1941 Izenbek died, and plates completely disappeared. There are assumptions that they were stolen during the German occupation by soldiers of CC and are transferred for studying to Anenerbe`s organization (Heritage of ancestors).

Summer of 1952 Alexander Kurenkov (A. Kur), editor of the Russian magazine Heat - a bird in San - Frantsisko, begins to show interest in a subject of pre-Christian writing of Slavs. Between it and Mirolyubov business correspondence is started. The first mention of Izenbek`s plates leaves in 1953, the next two years on the basis of Mirolyubov`s materials are published articles the Kura, the photo of a plate No. 16 for the first time is published. Further the publication of the Velesovy book happens not absolutely exactly. In 1957 - 59 in Heat - a bird there are texts of some plates, but in comparison with Mirolyubov`s typewriting there is a set of inaccuracies: substitution of letters and words, wrong numbering, shortage of pieces of the text. As a result Mirolyubov conferred all responsibility for the publication on the Kura and asked not to mention his name. Missing texts were published by professor S. Paramonov (Sergey Lesny) at the request of Mirolyubov. In Russia the full text of the Velesovy book was published only in 1990 by the philologist Oleg Vladimirovich Tvorogov.

The book narrates Velesov about history of Russia from V to the 9th century AD. Slavs are presented first of all as the cattle-farmers and hunters leading a nomadic life, only over time passing to an agricultural phase. According to the book Slavic tribes had sources in Asia (that explains similarity of the early Slavic alphabet and inscriptions on ancient temples in China), the origin of tribes is described since 10th century BC. The view of ancient religion where it is told about the one God Rodya from whom there were all other deities which are only an embodiment of natural powers and not having the full power over the world (in some translations - demigods) is interesting. The Universe was divided Slavs into three parts: A reality - a visible, real kingdom; Nav - an invisible kingdom of the dead; Govern - a kingdom of the universal laws operating the whole world. In the Book the human victims to gods are denied and it is told about high literacy of the people.

Early studies of the Velesovy book on authenticity were conducted in 1959 by the Soviet scientists. The commission drew a conclusion that this document - a fake. First of all, material - thin wooden plates which could hardly live till the 20th century was called into question. In 1960 from research language of the Velesovy book as obvious and inept falsification was unambiguously rejected. However, the last researches all - treat that ancient Slavs had the writing, and the text of a plate mostly corresponds to this hypothesis. But in the analysis of the text philologists found appreciable errors which the magician could hardly allow; also at letters there is a mixture of different styles of writing (it is mix of the Cyrillic and Indian letter, early and late ways of writing of words); there are some actual inaccuracies.

Supporters of authenticity of the book (among whom there are many scientists with world names) explain all this with the good address with plates and the wrong copying and the translation of documents. If all this is a fake, the only thing that cannot be told precisely when also by whom it was made - Mirolyubov, Izenbek, Sulakadzev or someone else. And the most important question, whether the truth what is in contents of the Velesovy book? If yes, that history of Ancient Russia comes to new level, and Slavs appear at us as the people with much greater culture and heritage.
