What prospects of use of biofuel?

And it means that not always we will fill in the substance flowing from the gun on the next gasoline station in tanks of the vehicles, and the countries - exporters of the Russian gas will not always periodically recover a subject of the prices of natural gas in the press. It is therefore reasonable to go deep into searches of alternative energy sources not to be overtaken unawares in not such, it appears, far day from us when there comes time to dismantle oil derricks and the whole networks various wires (petro - or gas-).

In this context often it is necessary to hear about biofuel. In principle, we are familiar with such fuel. If to understand, the same firewood - the most real biofuel. If to be exact, then it is solid biofuel. There is still a liquid biofuel (for example, alcohol ethanol). But for some reason seldom who remembers firewood when conversation comes about biofuel. It is not sophisticated: smooth entry of new fuel into the active use is connected first of all with prospects of the motor transport. What these prospects?

We will tell directly: are quite real. One business when researches are conducted in scientific laboratories, another - when arises an opportunity to estimate in fighting conditions the technologies offered already today on which development and more essential study our hopes for time without oil and gas are in the future pinned. What exists under the sign " already today; " biofuel;?

One of the developed technologies is ensuring operation of the diesel engine on rape oil. In comparison with " diesel fuel; oil allows to reduce the level of emissions in environment of harmful substances that is its clear advantage. Except rape, also soy, sunflower and palm oils can be used. Researches with the purpose to adapt the car under the fuel received from the fulfilled food oil are conducted. Before the engine will work at oil biofuel, oil needs to be prepared (on - scientific it is called a pereeterifikation; a product of this process air, for example methyl air of rape oil are).

Other actively developed direction on introduction of biotechnologies is creation of the fuel called in the west of flex - fuel. It has the designation E which the number indicating percentage of ethanol alcohol in it follows (for example, E85). In the different countries fuel with the ratios of mix of ethanol and gasoline differing among themselves is used: in Denmark and Thailand distribution was gained by flex - E10 brand fuel, in Brazil - E20, and E85 can be found in Sweden and (even more often) the USA. Let`s notice that the standard petrol engine (unprepared) can work at E10, but not E20 and the more so as E85 in any way.

If to speak about production flex consequences - fuel, then treat growth of deforestation under the reed used when receiving ethanol and also growth of emission in the atmosphere of aldehydes and nitrogen oxides in comparison with the levels of their emission fixed for " them; pure gasoline. However there is also a reverse of the medal: researchers note preservation of amount of carbon dioxide (on - national - carbon dioxide) in the atmosphere as one of consequences of use of such biofuel instead of oil products.

At combustion of biofuel that carbon dioxide which was absorbed by the plants growing on agricultural grounds from which receive ethanol gets to the atmosphere (the same reed, for example); combustion of oil products leads to emergence in the atmosphere of molecules of carbon dioxide which in the atmosphere were not earlier since the atoms of carbon which are its part were in bowels of the earth before. To answer a question of what evil is less or where emissions bear threat of smaller damage to environment, scientists should conduct not one more research.

In the former Soviet Union and in general in the majority of the countries of the world, more or less organized and officially declared transition to biofuel did not begin yet. But some countries work in this direction already today, and as indisputable leaders recognize Brazil and the USA here. The first uses for this purpose a sugar cane, Americans hope for corn as the guarantor of decrease in import of oil in the next decades.

Researches in the field of biotechnologies are conducted not only concerning production of bioethanol or oils for diesel engines. So, scientists pay close attention to studying of opportunities of use of waste of agricultural production as real biofuel. Waste products of draft cattle plus the bacteria responsible for fermentation process placed in them create prerequisites for release of energy which can be used subsequently as well as that that it is received from hydrocarbonic energy carriers. In a word, here everything only begins, but we have already today an opportunity to observe fruits of scientific thought.
