How the public transport of Norway works? I had not to meet
of Such magnificent organization of public transport service still though, I was in many countries and the cities. In Oslo there are five lines of the subway - it is called at them “ Ti - the bonds “ (T-bane). Of course, the subway very modest, is not similar to ours at all. Underground stations are located only in the downtown, they not deep, in total about ten steps down a ladder, any escalators. Outside the central ring it comes to a surface, and reminds a usual electric train rather.
Trains have 3 - 4 cars, generally red color. In cars it is very pure. Distances between stations small, each 3 - 5 minutes a stop. By trains of the subway it is possible to reach practically any district of the city, and in historic center of 4 of 5 branches connect together. Interval of the movement of also small, 5 - 6 minutes.
On the first branch of the subway it is possible to reach in forty minutes from the center to the town of Frognerseteren (Frognerseteren) located at the height of 469 meters above sea level. On this route at each station height above sea level is designated! It is so healthy! At station Meyorstuyen (Majorstuen), almost in the downtown, height of 70,6 meter, in the middle of the way, Holmenkolen has (Holmenkollen) where there is the well-known ski jump, it already 272 meters, and at the end of the way as it is told above - 469 meters. From there the beautiful view of the fiord lying below and the city opens.
Tram routes nine, their numbers for some reason begin with 10. Well, and of course, there are a lot of city buses, very comfortable. A common feature of all public transport - all of them work strictly according to the schedule, on them it is possible to synchronize watches! In each car of the subway, the tram and in the bus you can take - free of charge, the schedule on this type of transport where it is specified at what stop in what time there will be this route. Intervals of the movement from 5 to 10 minutes. And at each stop, at the special stand, it is obligatory to eat the scheme of traffic on the next area with the schedule. Besides, in trams and buses over a cabin of the driver there is a running line (as in the TV) which tells passengers number of a route, the direction, i.e. terminal station, and the name of the following stop. Moreover and drivers declare a stop. Here you will not pass and you will not go to other party! At once you remember that our trolleybuses, trams and buses in St. Petersburg it is necessary to wait for half an hour at a stop, and even forty - fifty minutes.
One more difference from our transport - the entrance to the bus, the tram and an electric train is located very low, it is not necessary to jump, being afraid to fall at an exit, or to clamber at an entrance. The lower step is level with the sidewalk, it is easily possible to drive on a wheelchair or to roll the nursery. Except overland, there is still a water transport. Small passenger ferries all the year round go to some islands located in Oslo the fiord, each hour.
The prices of journey in public transport are identical to all types and rather high. Razovy Drive stands 20 kroner (about 92 rubles). The ticket acquired in any kind of transport is valid within an hour after you activated it, i.e. punched. Considering small distances in the city, you can change on other type of transport with the same ticket and reach where it is necessary. There are sutochnyeproyezdny cards, they cost 60 kroner. On them it is possible to make unlimited number of trips within a day from the moment of activation. Once, for example, I in a day made not less than 10 trips! Week tickets are very convenient for visitors. They cost 210 kroner, and of course, pay for itself with interest. Locals, as a rule, get monthly cards or a smart - the card for three months, with the photo, on a magnetic basis. It is the most economic ticket. It is important that on tickets all information is written in two languages - Norwegian and English. At an entrance to the subway there are no turnstiles, passes wide, passengers punch tickets if they are not punched anywhere earlier. I met controllers only once, in the tram. Five young people, in a special form entered the car at once, checked tickets, at the same time there was no free rider - “ hare “. In Norway it is not accepted to go without ticket as if you get to the controller, the penalty will make 700 kroner (about 3200 rubles). During such work of public transport there is no need to constantly use the privately owned vehicle.
Streets in Oslo mostly very narrow, on many are laid tram ways, and for two-way traffic. And in the ways cars go straight. As drivers manage to avoid collision, I do not know, but in 10 days of stay did not see any accident. And too did not notice any GAI or traffic controllers. Traffic lights work accurately, participants of the movement - both pedestrians and drivers are respectful to each other, do not violate rules. If the person crosses the street where there is no traffic light even if it is not the intersection and there is no allowing sign, the car by all means will stop and will pass the pedestrian. In general, Norwegians all very quiet, balanced people, in public transport even children behave quietly, there is neither loud talk, nor abuse. Having visited Norway, you receive not only the mass of impressions, but also will have a rest morally. Successful travel!
