Here you can acquaint the child with concepts of geometrical figures, vertical, diagonal and horizontal rows of cages, show what fancy figures can turn out from them. For encouragement of the correct answers it is possible to use the beautiful pictures which are cut out from magazines, a toy - a homemade product from paper or colourful stickers of fauna.
On a chessboard it is very simple to train a visual memory of the kid, but before starting occupations, find out at what level it is. Perhaps, it has an excellent visual memory, and it is necessary to develop other lag. Take
two different chessmen and establish on the game field far away from each other. Tell the child that he remembered on what sections they stand. Then clean figures, count to ten and ask to show on what cages they stood.
If the child specifies correctly both cages from the first and will show without mistakes on what of them there was what figure, then he has no problems with a visual memory, and you can safely switch to other exercises developing brain activity. If it is not able to show any cage on which there were figures, then do not waste time and immediately start training. If one cage is correctly called, then start exercises of the second lesson.

3 exercise: you establish two different figures of identical color on a third gender from edge from each party of a horizontal row, then you clean, you count up to three and you ask to put them where they were.
If the child successfully coped with the first three exercises, then in following to seven put randomly different two - three figures of one color on any fields of the first horizontal row, then clean and check how he remembers. Fix each mistake in a notebook and come back to that exercise, repeating it, storing level will not increase yet.
The 2nd lesson and the subsequent six completely repeat the first, but only on the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth horizontal ranks from the child.
1 exercise: you put two identical chessmen of different color on any fields, then you suggest to look at their arrangement to the child, you count up to three and you ask to leave it the room. You clean figures, you count up to ten and you ask the child to come into the room, to find the necessary figures and to put them on the necessary cages.
2 exercise: you put two different chessmen of identical color and you repeat a task of the first exercise.
3 exercise: you put three pawns of one color on any fields and you repeat a task of the first exercise. Fix mistakes and repeat the third exercise several times.
1 exercise: let`s choose three any chessmen of one color and ask that the child established them on any fields, then ask to leave the room, count to ten, ask to enter and show what he chose figures and where put.
2 exercise: let`s choose any two white figures, one black and repeat a task of the first exercise.
3 exercise: choose two white figures and one black, establish on any fields, call the child and repeat a task of the first exercise. Fix mistakes and repeat the third exercise several times.
Do not lower hands and do not stop occupations if at once the child gets stuck at the first lesson, repeat it several times, yet there will be no mistakes and only then go further.
