Pictures oil: how it becomes? Mixture of paints

Many beginning artists seek to find the paints in accuracy rendering color of nature. But there are no such paints, and cannot be. To transfer a variety of all shades, every time it is necessary to mix at least two - three paints. Old masters used only seven - eight paints applied on a palette, creating the masterpieces on their basis.

Oil paints can be covering opaque (for example, whitewash and cadmium), translucent (the majority of earth paints) and transparent (an umbra, ultramarines, kraplak). If on the dried paint to put a thin transparent layer, then the new shade, as from imposing of color glass will turn out. In mix with whitewash all paints become covering and change color.

Paints squeeze out from tubes and mix on palette impregnated with oil and having openings for a finger and brushes. It is better to use a palette from a tree or plywood.

The order of imposing of paints on a palette is very important. Chaotic putting paints complicates search of necessary shades and often is the reason of dirty color of mixes. It is necessary to have paints on a palette on edge, beginning from the left lower: at first blue, then green, yellow, orange, red, earth. Whitewash it is necessary to arrange separately. Them it will be required much as they are used almost in each mix.

In order that dab was not dry, it is necessary to squeeze out only necessary amount of paint. The middle of a palette has to remain free for mixing. It is impossible to write with the dried-up paints which remained on a palette after the previous work. After completion of work all paints should be removed from a palette with a palette knife and to wipe it the oiled rag.

Is certain of restriction in mixing of paints which reason properties of their pigments are. So, it is undesirable to mix ultramarines with earth paints. With it do not maintain the mixes and paints consisting of organic compounds: kraplak, zolotisto - yellow.

On labels of tubes with oil paints asterisks are put. Their quantity indicates degree of light resistance of paint: three asterisks - the highest light resistance, one - the lowest.

As dabs of paints nearby with each other influence at each other and make impression of other shade from the point of view of their perception, than on a palette, it is necessary to apply on a canvas all main color spots at once to see them at the same time and to perceive color ratios between them.

Tyubikovy paints, as a rule, have a dense consistence in the necessary degree, to dilute them there is no need. If all - any paint was more dense another, then thinners are applied by . Pinene and Whyte - a spiritist - the most universal. Regulate density of paints by means of solvents on a palette in the course of mixing. The pure brush should be dunked into the solvent poured in a butterdish before work then to stir it that paint which is too dense. After obtaining necessary density enter the second paint for receiving a necessary shade.

In the course of studying of various properties of picturesque materials new creative opportunities open: both in improvement of technology of oil painting, and in search of various receptions of the embodiment of art plans.
