Young specialists in library innovative science

the Developing processes of informatization of society, a computerization of activity of social institutes (schools, higher education institutions, health system and other institutes which the person, anyway, faces in the life), emergence of computers, video in families changed requirements of people and to the sphere bibliotechno - bibliographic service. In libraries still address for the book, the magazine, the newspaper, for copies of articles from them. At the same time request also audio and videotapes, information on magnetic carriers (diskettes, CD - ROM, etc.) and also information from the global telecommunication Internet.

With introduction of new information technologies nature of use of library changes. Except traditional readers who are physically captured by services industry of concrete library people whom the librarian does not know personally, and only finds their address data on the servers “enter“ it the Internet through local networks or with the help. Such users call virtual. The concept “virtual“ is considered here as “such object which is not perceived yet as something certain, but capable in the presence of the known conditions to arise, appear“. So, today we observe a tendency of increase in category of users, removed from library, and, therefore, expansion of access to information which is contained in funds of concrete library. With introduction of computer technologies it is necessary to pay attention to such problem as the place of young specialists in a library science, and definition of the concept “modern librarian“.

The terminological dictionary “Library science“ contains the following definition: the librarian is a profession which maintenance is library activity; a position in library. As library activity, information resources and technologies change, it cannot but be reflected in the librarian`s profession.

Characteristic of today - the librarian has to study constantly to adapt to changes. Therefore many young specialists continue to be trained at institutes of professional development and retraining of personnel, in postgraduate study. Library experts perform not only directly practical work in library, but are engaged in teaching and scientific activity that demands laborious self-educational work. If traditionally the librarian dealt with documents on papers which did not demand technical devices at their use, then now, along with traditional data carriers, he works with audio and video records, diskettes, a compact - disks, electronic editions. Therefore, he needs to own skills of use of modern technical means and technologies.

The shape of the modern librarian absolutely changed. This is, as a rule, the young specialist owning knowledge of use of computers, copiers, scanners, printers, modems, video equipment and other equipment. Technicalization and technologization of a library profession are available. It is necessary to notice that the youth very actively and quickly seizes new equipment and technology. As a result of it, there is a tendency of increase in a competition of young men and girls at receipt on is information - library faculties of higher education institutions of culture and arts.

Expansion of use in libraries of new technical means assumes also introduction of modern technologies that involves appearance of such experts, nonconventional for libraries, as the librarian - the technologist, the information scientist - the manager, the database manager and knowledge bases and some others. So, for example, need of coordination when using network computer technologies demanded such qualified specialists as the database manager, the manager of information systems; development of WWW - service the Internet caused need of training of specialists on creation and the Web updating - pages; librarians specialize also in area of electronic publishing, training in work in the Internet.

With the advent of new specialties the range of information services, effective extends only when using computer technologies and assuming the analysis of the text. These are factual, kontseptografichesky, analytical, translation services. Libraries provide the electronic catalog, problemno - the focused databases (including bibliographic, abstract, full text DB on CD - ROM), make listings, entries on nonconventional carriers, carry out copies of sound recordings, videos, offer services in scanning of documents.

Full text electronic documents also become available to most of users. Network services (the Internet, the Intranet, Libweb), machine time for the personal user of the COMPUTER are provided, extend programmatically - information products (soft). Within the Internet work with e-mail, teleconferences, telnet, ftp is offered. On Web - servers of libraries it is possible to find actual information, announcements, in some cases the possibility of use of electronic catalogs, databases with various inquiries is provided. The Internet allows to organize three-dimensional space, to provide not only static text or graphic information, but also dynamic (the speech, music, video, animation).

Thus, leave a serious mark on the nomenclature of the services provided by libraries of a tendency of a computerization and informatization of society (publishing, providing information for the population, services - the verification of quotes and bibliographic references of degree and dissertation works training services and others).

Especially it would be desirable to note that in modern bibliotechno - the information environment also the communication subject changed a little. If earlier communication of the user and librarian arose concerning the book, the magazine and was carried out during search at catalogs, then now the subject extended - consultation of the user on work with the computer equipment, search in the Internet, along with a traditional subject of communication, has formal character.

Thus, libraries, reserving traditional methods of service of readers - users, turn into the electronic centers of information resources. Also requirements to training of library experts change. The modern librarian is the information intermediary, the information scientist, Web today - the master, the database manager, the information broker etc. Each of representatives of these professions bears high responsibility for conscientious performance of the work as in this case the accuracy and availability of information, protection of the rights of the personality for free access to information and information activities will only be provided.
