Photoreading. Myth or reality?
A century when information became the main product of consumption and, by the way, sale when the volume of the data demanding processings, whether it be assimilation and application of new knowledge, or acquaintance with them increased extremely, lawfully appear a question, - and how all to be in time? How to be aware of events , to develop in the professional plan, to learn new , at the same time it would be desirable also to live, and not just to sit at textbooks and in front of the monitor?! The answer , of course is simple - to increase the speed of perception, processing and storing of data . But there is one “but“. Using the skills received when training it is almost impossible to solve this problem!
An exit, nevertheless, exists. One of decisions, perhaps, the most optimum - increase of speed of reading. There are many schools and techniques, however, independently to be engaged by them, the remarkable patience and persistence is necessary (the result, however, is worth it). I as the person lazy and not too diligent, so up to the end also did not pass any of them, though undertook. The problem remained …
I once, rummaging on boundless open spaces of a network, I came across method of photoreading developed by Paul Shelley (not absolutely precisely in the Russian transcription). I checked the book, kept electronic option and left till the best times (oh how many we leave for later). The reading speed promised by the author impressed, but seemed unattainable for the mere mortal. 25 000 words a minute whether you know, sound improbably. Well, I did not begin to do something … until recently.
In one of gray winter days I “ripened“. Washing the logician was as easy as shelling pears - does not work, it`s all right, I will lose couple of days (so how many I already lost them - not to count), works - “be hurt“. Got the book, read two days that yes as, week postponed application read in practice, but decided.
Solved - I will read that under a hand the first will turn up. Under a hand the textbook on pedagogics turned up. The textbook was absolutely unfamiliar though pedagogics to be remembered on a faculty of foreign languages we passed and even somehow handed over. Opened the textbook and executed all> steps offered by Paul Shelley as that:

waited some time and began to check the acquired material, according to goals. Here it is necessary to make a reservation that definition and statement of the purpose of reading, a fundamental factor of any kind of the accelerated reading. You watch details in materials of the author of a course.
I was pleasantly surprised that my purposes were reached after photoreading. The main ideas, the point of view of authors, some subtleties which are of especially personal interest were revealed, understood and remembered. All this without some special efforts for my part. How I read before and how many remembered - this experience became the real break. On the book in 250 pages, at me about 45 minutes with all stages of reading left. I do not know, freankly speaking, impressed me.
Why I wrote all this, and you found time to read? It seems to me that the experience of the simple person described in a few words can make much bigger impression, than multivolume statistical calculations. I thought that photoreading - the next myth though I knew approximately how many the person worldwide already uses this method, but still itself you will not try, up to the end will not believe. But even if you will never be engaged in photoreading, then can be will try traditional techniques of fast reading who knows … If so, then this article was not just a waste of time.
And photoreading - all - is quite real and subject to the majority. For you there was only one, to believe and try. Also do not despair if quickly and at once not all to turn out. Quickly, as the knowing people speak, only cats are born...
