Why Alexander Kosarev became the last secretary general of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League? Part 2
29 of October, 1938 Alexander Kosarev sat near companion Stalin on anniversary plenum in honor of the twentieth anniversary of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League. An applause and glorifications of a greeting " rattled; to the father of all times and people “ shone enthusiasm of an eye of youth, shouted: “ Komsomol hurrah to favourite companion Stalin “.
As the cynical tyrant of naivety of unsophisticated Komsomol members had to grin in soul, well knowing that Lavrenti Beria from his approval already prepared the charge to the secretary general of Tsekamol and other his adherents in espionage threatening with death to many young lives.
The great leader and the mentor of the Soviet youth was well informed on all subtleties of the preparing repressions against Komsomol members. Companion Stalin also knew about the forthcoming plenum on which had to remove Kosarev together with other secretaries of the Central Committee, and about election of the successor of the third secretary general of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, Nikolay Mikhaylov, already the first secretary. Also arrest of the wife of the head of Komsomol was coordinated with Lavrenti Beria, Victor Naneyshvili`s daughters, “ personal enemy “ both of them.
For ten previous years Iosif Vissarionovich treated Alexander Kosarev with special sympathy, the leader of Komsomol members was considered as his favourite. It were pleasant to companion Stalin fervent readiness of the young secretary general, leader of different Komsomol affairs, to successfully carry out the undertakings approved by All-Union Communist Party (bolsheviks), its vigorous, sunshiny disposition, boundless devotion to communistic idea, honesty and unselfishness. The third secretary general of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League became in the thirties not only the authoritative leader of Komsomol, but also very dear party member.
From approval of companion Stalin a name of Alexander Kosarev were called frontier posts, educational institutions, sports clubs. Kosarev`s energy was enough also for development of FZU, and for the organization of Komsomol buildings, and on it is sports - mass work among youth. In 1933 in Paris on the World anti-war congress it was elected in the International committee of fight against fascism and war. He saw the main objectives of Komsomol in education of a healthy lifestyle, patriotism, dedicated work of youth for the sake of bright future of mankind.
Kosarev promoted development of mass character in chess sport among youth and in every possible way supported the Komsomol members acting in responsible competitions. He became an idol of young builders of new society not only in the cities, but also in rural areas. In the speech at the seventeenth congress he with pride reported: “ … on each 100 collective farms we have 48 Komsomol cells, and in decisive areas, say, Ukraine, the North Caucasus, the Lower and Central Volga, Western Siberia, on each 100 collective farms we have 70 Komsomol cells “.
At companion Stalin the first doubts in absolute devotion of Alexander Kosarev to him personally could appear after S. M. Kirov`s murder. Investigating in the commission together with Nikolay Ezhov facts of the case, the secretary general Tsekamola began to doubt in correctness of final conclusions, without understanding that all of them are coordinated with companion Stalin. However in 1936 the leader of party still treated the management of Komsomol favourably, and the chairman of a shakhsektor ispolbyuro Nikolay Vasilyevich Krylenko successfully resolved by VSFK issues of financing of the third Moscow international tournament through Kosarev.
From the beginning of Big terror Iosif Vissarionovich insistently advised general and to other secretaries of the Central Committee of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League “ … to head fight against enemies of the people “. However Alexander dared to protect the shots after their arrest, and companion Stalin was strongly angered. In the middle of repressions in August, 1937 on Plenum of All-Union Communist Party (bolsheviks) of the Central Committee it was noted by the special resolution that Tsekamol, and first of all companion Kosarev, “ … showed intolerant political carelessness and missed special methods of blasting work of enemies of the people in Komsomol “.
But nothing the leader of Komsomol members understood, got a false idea himself the real secretary general of youth in system of one-party tyranny and in October, 1937 dared to send the report to companion Stalin with condemnation of mass terror: “ The self-insurance is favorable to enemies of party because honest people on the basis of simple rumors, without analysis, without the subject check are expelled from our ranks, thereby embitter them against us “. Twenty days later after the anniversary evening which solemnly celebrated the twentieth anniversary of formation of Komsomol extraordinary plenum of the Central Committee of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League according to Mishakova`s letter took place on November 19, 1938.
It was, most likely, provocation on the instructions of the secretary general of party. For the unclear reason the instructor of the Central Committee Mishakova directed to the Chuvash regional conference suddenly began to expose the secretary of regional committee, and also others there are not enough acquaintances to it Komsomol workers as enemies of the people and bourgeois nationalists. Kosarev discussed behavior of Mishakova who did not have powers on All-Union Leninist Young Communist League Central Committee bureau to dismiss conference, and it was exempted from work for “ the gross blunders … “. The instructor wrote the letter to companion Stalin, having accused the secretary general Tsekamol of complicity to enemies of the people.
Companion Stalin came to extraordinary November plenum of the Central Committee of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League together with Kaganovich, Zhdanov, Molotov, Malenkov and Andreyev. Kosarev, Bogachyov, Pikina were brought out of structure of secretaries of the Central Committee. Several days later they arrested, having accused of espionage. Kosarev did not admit anything, betrayed nobody and on the last interrogation prophetically said directly to the investigator B. V. Rodos: “ … you ruin the Soviet power: all the same you will be responsible for everything, swine “. On February 23, 1939 the last secretary general of the Central Committee of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League was shot.
Transferred to companion Stalin the last letter of Kosarev in which he instructively taught “ father of all people “ that “ … to destroy the shots which are brought up by the Soviet power, madness “. After Kosareva Iosif Vissarionovich ceased to appoint heads of Komsomol secretaries general that did not put on airs and kept at a distance in system of one-party dictatorship.
