The initiative of deputies of LDPR about a legislative ban of this food additive in Russia was the cause for surge in interest in a glutamate. The member of fraction Yaroslav Nilov proved need of acceptance of a ban, having announced the list of traditional claims to the amplifier of taste E621: “ Constantly eating food with this additive, the person in general ceases to perceive taste of what he eats! There is an accustoming, changes in hormonal system, obesity develops, the risk of diabetes increases. The so-called syndrome of the Chinese restaurant is known - after the use in food of a glutamate of sodium there are a headache, sweating, weight in a breast “.
This statement caused unprecedented activity in the ranks of supporters of a glutamate. The first the chief health officer of the Russian Federation Gennady Onishchenko responded: “ Glutamates of sodium are applied 35 years already both in international, and in the Russian practice.
