Digital cameras become cheaper and more powerful, the mass of hybrids, for example, mobile phones and pocket computers with the built-in digital cameras, or video cameras with a possibility of shooting of photos appears. The thermojet technology differs from piezoelectric in the fact that for the press heating of ink is used, at the same time at the expense of excessive pressure the part of ink is thrown out through a nozzle. Process of heating and cooling repeats huge number of times a second, temperature of heating reaches 600 C, and time of a thermal impulse does not exceed two million fractions of a second. The vesiculate Canon technology is a special case of a thermoinkjet printing at which emission of ink is carried out only at the expense of the formed gas bubbles arising when heating ink.

Sublimation (from Latin sublimare [ to uplift ] - transition of substance when heating from a firm state in gaseous, passing a liquid state) the technology of the press essentially differs from jet: here as expendables not ink, and cartridges with a film on which special dye is applied are used. Thanks to heating dye evaporates from a film and is transferred to special paper for the sublimation press. As a result of the same heating of a time of paper open, and dye is fixed on a print then the paper surface becomes smooth and glossy again. Paper can become covered for additional protection of the image by a special film. The press is carried out in several passes as on paper it is necessary to transfer to three main dyes: purple, turquoise and yellow.

Both at jet, and at sublimation technologies of the press there are merits and demerits. Lack of jet models - an image polosnost which is shown in different models in various degree. In many modern models it is almost imperceptible, on condition of full serviceability of the printer, however the situation in a root changes at a contamination of part snuffled or at failure in work of exact mechanics. Besides, a print, received on the inkjet printer it is possible to distinguish on a raster - dot structure of the image, - in particular, on light color transitions. Sublimation printers are completely free from this shortcoming, however for their work specific cartridges with a tape are necessary and (surely!) special paper.

Now we will talk about concrete technical characteristics of portable photoprinters. As a rule, press speed is not the defining factor here - efforts of developers are concentrated on the most realistic color rendition and image sharpness. Nevertheless, as a rule, the actual speed of the press at the printers constructed on jet and sublimation technologies differs a little and makes, on average, from one to two and a half minutes. It is interesting that if any a time ago championship in the speed of the press was held by jet photoprinters, then now sublimation models in which the press of one picture takes about 60 seconds surely shoot ahead.

The declared permission at jet photoprinters makes not less than 4800 x 1200 dots per inch, and in certain cases - to 5760 x 1440 dots per inch. Sublimation printers print with the resolution of 300 x 300 or 310 x 310 dots per inch. Let does not confuse you so low, in comparison with " inkjet printers; permission - actually due to features of technology and total absence of granularity quality of prints does not suffer from it at all. Besides, we will remind that pictures reckon with resolution of 300 dpi as photos with printing quality .

Distinctive feature of portable photoprinters - a possibility of completely autonomous press, without the need for connection to the computer and even, in some cases, to the power supply network. All models of this class can print directly from cameras at connection via the USB interface.
