Head and leader. What difference between them?Success of any organization or establishment directly depend on the one who directs it.
the Head is the first person of establishment. The head is a person who directs work of others and bears personal responsibility for its results
But not so seldom in the organizations there can be leaders who have not smaller influence on collective, than the head. Today the role of leadership is especially actual. As life shows, the real leader has a great influence and is capable to achieve good results with collective.
Times of the Soviet Union brought up great heads, but not leaders.
Leadership and the management are two different concepts. the Management concentrates attention on that people did things correctly, and leadership - on that people did the correct things.
The leader collective or the manager brings an order and sequence in the performed work. For it people are colleagues, but not subordinates. With them he makes the interaction more on the facts and within specifically established and all of the known purposes.
The leader inspires people, introduces enthusiasm in work. He accurately sees the end result and knows how to pass stages to its achievement. The leader is confident in what he does, the leader is inspired what it does. The leader is capable to set to collective an attainable aim.
The head tends to take a passive position in relation to the purposes. Most often he as necessary is guided on someone the established purposes from above and personally is not interested in them.
The head on the first place puts an order in interaction with subordinates. The emotional component of the relations is almost excluded. Subordinated are the workers who are carrying out the duties. The head always expects and is obliged to accept respect from the employees.
Leaders are able to consider and listen to needs of workers, respect their values and driving emotions. Leaders are inclined to use of emotions and intuition in communication, are always ready to cause in the followers strong feelings - both love, and hatred. Leaders do not demand to themselves respect, they deserve it.
Heads in a name achievement of the objectives and motivations of subordinates use control. Punishments prevail over encouragement. Defects and failures are discussed more, than achievements and progress.
Leaders build the relations with people on trust, motivating and inspiring them a personal example. They put trust in a basis group, collaboration. Recognition of progress and achievements prevails over mistakes. Mistakes and collective admit easily and ways of their correction are looked for.
The head at adoption of new decisions places emphasis on old experience, to a minimum reduces possibilities of search of new ways from difficult situations.
the Leader, on the contrary, makes continuous attempts on development of new and ambiguous solutions. To run risks and to take for it responsibility - a distinctive feature of the modern leader.
To the head difficult strives for clarity and clearness in work performance. He prefers paper reports more than really - the interesting, but not recorded protokolno anywhere events. In collective mediocrity is informally maintained, suppressed and endowments of employees do not admit.
is peculiar to the Leader the constant analysis of the developed affairs in collective, the best examples are encouraged, unplanned, but deserved remuneration progresses.
The head is not able and does not need delegation of powers, to treat jealously any new ideas going not from it. the Leader bravely and fear competently delegates to
powers, is able to direct them and to accept result. Creates a possibility of positive feedback, supports the reasonable initiative of employees within the actual purposes.
The head is not able to improve the relations with “ difficult “ people. It is not capable to protect collective during the critical periods of life of the organization, quietly treats the minimum contribution of the employees.
the Leader can establish the acceptable relations with “ difficult “ people, without clashing with them, but also without being engaged in connivance in the relations. The leader protects the colleagues, but demands from them the maximum contribution to the common cause.

A great luck if officially appointed head of some link possesses leadership skills and it becomes natural the leader of collective. To be the head does not mean automatically to be considered as the leader.
